[Ubuntu-PH] First General Meeting for 2010

Hi guys!

I'd like to announce that our First General Meeting for 2010 will take
place on January 29, 2010 at 8:00PM (UTC +8). The venue would be at
#ubuntu-ph on Freenode[1].

The agenda will be as follows:

1) Activities and Events for 2010
a. Online tutorial on package translations
b. Webinars for new Ubuntu users
c. Other seminars and offline events
d. Tools (conference packs) and Resources (presentations) for offline
events
2) Translation of Packages for Lucid Lynx
3) Locales due for libc
4) Preparation for the LoCo Team Re-approval
5) Regional contact persons
6) CD Request Process
7) Other matters

I'm afraid not, IRC's the only option we have for real-time meetings.

What I'm thinking is possibility of web-based conferencing instead of just
IRC.

I'm not privy to IRC whether on the terminal, browser or otherwise.

Regardless, hoping for a really good discussion on the meeting.

Hi,

Maybe in the future we can tap Jabber MUC? If I'm not mistaken, we can
stay private/anonymous via XMPP unlike IRC (if I understood Hard's email
correctly).

I'm not aware though of any real-time HTTP conference methods (or free
service at that). I'm only aware of IRC and IM-chats.

Also I wasn't able to attend the meeting. Our network had been
experiencing intermittent problems since Thursday afternoon. I was
also having a hard time connecting my terminal-based irc client Irssi
which happens to be behind our proxy. Unfortunately also that time I
don't have access to GUI and locked-up with ssh connection. However, I
have spent my time reviewing the minutes of the meeting hoping I could
be of any help whatsoever. I'd better make sure next time to be on
meeting with you guys.
