Very interesting indeed :-)

Anybody knows if there are some sneak peek videos or pics showing the
'improved' user experience? :-)

Cheers,

Unless someone in the community will provide for us a mock-up or something, we will wait for four years from now to fully experience the wayland based desktop.

I would be interested to know if anyone has had real face time with Wayland.
Just when I was starting to get comfortable with X and Gnome....*sigh*

Unless if you are a developer something like you develop utilities/applications that relies heavily on X-dev, I can't see any reason why you aren't comfortable with another window server alternative, since it is transparent to the user, also Wayland was develop with backward compatibility in mind, so the transition is smooth. The difference is that we can expect GNOME and KDE to be faster to render windows than what we have today.

I agree.

Most users will only be using the upper graphical layer anyway (eg. mouse
clicking) so I don't see any huge hindrance for the common user regarding
the Wayland switch.

I expect the graphics layer to be much faster than it currently is,
considering that compositor "dialogue" will be much more direct than what's
happening currently with X.

Again, exciting :). I'm looking forward to this.
